Mr. Gilland received his Juris Doctorate degree Drake Law School in 1995.  He earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science Degree from Brigham Young University in 1977 and 1978 respectively, both in Geology.

He has experienced corporate America working as a geophysicist for Texaco and later as a geologist for Gulf Oil Company.  He has owned his own businesses as a landscape and design contractor as well as a home general contractor.

He is an avid cyclist, competing and winning in America's longest USCF's certified one day bicycle race, LOTOJA.
